Why I Love Christmas

Not for reasons you might think, though yes, I am spoiled. I love Christmas, or the holiday season in general, because of the wonderful memories I have from my childhood, and the traditions we still have as a family. I seriously am so stoked and can not wait to go home for Christmas, I just get all giddy this time of year because it's different then being home on regular weekends, forgive me for sounding a bit cheesy but it's more...I don't know..magical isn't the right word and is BIG TIME CHEESE, but it's just more...something. One of my favorite traditions actually started today. Every year for as long as I can remember, my grandma has given me an Advent Calendar. Some years they have candy, some they don't, but they have all been different and each told a different story; whether it be the story of Christ's birth, or about Victorian Toys in a village toy store waiting for Santa to pick them up, it has always been the high light of my Christmas. I love that even now, at age 23, my grandma does this for me. And this year I even get chocolate.

I know, I love this time of year! :) Although I can do without the Christmas music for just a tad longer...some stations were playing it before Thanksgiving and that made me sad because more and more Thanksgiving is getting over-looked. I do love me some turkey, but I LOVE Christmastime even more.
